Why Chale

What is different about Chale E‑rickshaw

A fare, not a negotiation

The price is calculated from your routed distance and the pricing rules set for your city, and shown in full before you book.

Quiet and battery-powered

No engine noise and no exhaust on short city trips, so the ride is calmer for everyone on board.

A captain who has been checked

Licence, registration and identity are reviewed by a person before an e-rickshaw captain can take a trip.

The route on your screen

Follow the e-rickshaw to your pickup point on the map, and the trip afterwards, with an arrival time that updates.

How it works

Your first booking, step by step

  1. Set your pickup

Search, drop a pin or use your location.

  2. Add your destination

The map draws the route as soon as both ends are set.

  3. Check the fare

Distance, time and the amount, itemised.

  4. Confirm

Chale finds a nearby e-rickshaw captain for you.

  5. Share your start code

The trip only begins once you give the code.

Safety

On every trip

Only capabilities that are actually built into the platform are listed here.

  • A start code only you can see. The trip cannot begin until you give it to the captain.

  • Share your live trip with someone you trust, straight from the ride screen.

  • Emergency contacts saved on your account, reachable during a trip.

  • Report an incident from the trip itself; it reaches our operations team with the ride attached.

Questions

Frequently asked

How many people can travel in a Chale e-rickshaw?

The e-rickshaw category is set for up to four people. The seat count shown when you book is the one your city is configured with.

Is an e-rickshaw good for long trips?

It is designed for short city trips. For longer distances, a car or auto is usually the better choice.

What if no e-rickshaw is available?

Chale tells you plainly that no captain accepted, rather than leaving you waiting. You can try again or choose another service.

Is the fare different at night or in the rain?

Pricing rules, including any time-of-day or demand modifiers, are set by the operations team per city and applied on the server. Whatever applies is included in the amount you see before you book.
