Cookie policy
Chale stores the least it can get away with: three cookies that keep you signed in, and one browser preference. There is no analytics cookie, no advertising identifier and no third-party tracker on this site.
Cookies that keep you signed in
These are strictly necessary: without them the site cannot tell that a request is yours, and you could not stay signed in between pages.
- rh_at — your short-lived access token. HttpOnly, so browser JavaScript cannot read it.
- rh_rt — your refresh token, used to renew a session without asking for a new code. HttpOnly and SameSite=Strict.
- rh_did — an identifier for this device session, so a refresh is bound to the device it was issued to.
All three are set with the Secure flag in production, which means they are only ever sent over HTTPS. They are removed when you sign out.
A preference stored in your browser
- chale-language — whether you chose English or हिंदी. This is local storage, not a cookie: it is never sent to our servers, and clearing your browser data removes it.
What Chale does not do
- No analytics or measurement cookies.
- No advertising identifiers, and no sale of data to advertisers.
- No third-party tracking scripts embedded in these pages.
Map tiles are requested from our map provider when you use a map, which means that provider sees the request. That is a network request, not a cookie, and it happens only on pages with a map.
Managing them
You can clear cookies and site data from your browser settings at any time. Clearing them signs you out of Chale and resets your language choice; nothing else is lost, because nothing else is stored.
